British Science Week 2023

British Science Week is an annual 10-day celebration of science, and will take place from the 10th-19th March. The occasion can encourage schools and communities to organise events or activities that promote STEM education. For more information or to participate in organised events, head to the British Science Week website.

This year's theme is 'connections', which is a great time to highlight how the physical connections that we make every day are an essential aspect of human interaction but can cause infectious agents to spread globally if correct hygiene practices are not followed.

Take a look at the UK Health Security Agency's blog on how the e-Bug programme is working to stop AMR by empowering children and young people with science education.

See below for some example lesson plans that can help you to plan an engaging day of science education around 'connections'. Alternatively, explore the e-Bug website in full for all of the resources on offer!
