Supporting the New PSHE Curriculum: Vaccination, Antibiotics and Antimicrobial Resistance

The PSHE curriculum has recently been updated following a national review process. From September 2026, secondary school students will be required to learn about the fact and scientific evidence behind vaccination, antimicrobial resistance and the appropriate use of antibiotics.

To support teachers in delivering this new statutory content, e-Bug has partnered with the PSHE Association to develop a suite of quality-assured lesson plans for Key Stages 3 and 4. The lessons are designed to encourage critical thinking, discussion and evidence-based learning, helping students develop the knowledge and skills needed to make informed decisions about their health and understand the wider public health implications of infection prevention, antibiotic use and vaccination.
