Infection advice / Vaccination advice
After clean water, vaccination is the most effective public health intervention in the world for saving lives and preventing infection.
The vaccination advice in this section covers travel vaccines, flu vaccines and the Men C vaccine, which are all important for young adults. Use our interactive vaccination myth slides to explore common myths and misconceptions about vaccinations, and learn the truth!
In general, vaccinations may sting momentarily. You may have a bit of pain, redness and swelling around the injection site for the rest of the day, but this is a sign that your body is reacting well to the vaccine. It is okay to continue your day as normal. Most side effects from vaccinations are mild and short-lived, and more serious side effects are extremely rare.
