    Kestutis graduated at Vilnius University, Medical faculty in 2007. Since 2011 he has been working in the Institute of Hygiene in Patient safety department. Every year he was involed in organizing European Antibiotic Awareness Day, colaborating with local Public Health Bureaus and Ministry of Health in Lithuania. He has also assisted in creating and distributing information about antibiotic use and antimicrobial resistance for general population, primary care prescribers and hospital prescribers on website of Institute of Hygiene.

    Peer education at schools
    1Every year during November, specialists from Public Health Bureaus meet young schoolars to discuss about infections prevention and importance of prudent use of antibiotics. Students test their knowledge solving crosswords, younger one participate on drawing competitions.


    EAAD schools competition "Be stronger than Microbes - Learn more!"
    14-16 Years old students were invited to participate in the quiz about infections and prophylaxis, antibitic consumption and threat of resistance.


    Lessons design competition
    17-18 Year old students were invited to create Power point lesson for younger students about microorganisms, antibiotics, right use of antibiotics, development of bacterial resistance, antibiotics in future.

Every year specialists form Institute and members of MoH togeather with Public Health Bureaus discuss, share and plan ideas about following European Antibiotic Awareness Day.
